Permeable Pavers
The need for environmentally friendly exterior building materials is increasing for our communities as our landscape and built environment continue to change. Our communities today divert a lot of rainwater runoff and release it into rivers in the hopes that it would be filtered first. As a result, flash floods are becoming more and more destructive in urban and suburban areas. Fortunately, there is a driveway and patio alternative that is gaining popularity. Permeable pavers were created to beautify our hardscapes, assist in controlling rainfall runoff, and replenish our local water tables. Hardscapes with permeable pavers, such as gravel and groundcover, have paver designs and joint materials that catch and hold rainwater that falls on your property. Frequently, the pavers themselves are impermeable, allowing storm water to seep through.
